The Bourne Place leisure quarter is nearing completion, the Spirit of Sittingbourne can reveal.
This week will bring the practical completion of the new quarter. With the works completing tenants will now be invited to undertake the fit out of their units from July.
The opening dates for the new units are under review as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and public health guidance; however, the cinema is currently aiming to open its doors to the public in October.
The new leisure facilities coming to Sittingbourne will complement the Travelodge which opened in the quarter in February. The hotel closed temporarily due to the COVID 19 pandemic and will now reopen in July.
The Spirit of Sittingbourne regeneration is a partnership between U+I, Quinn Estates, Essential Land and Swale BC which will bring a total of over £300M of investment to the town.
A Spirit of Sittingbourne spokesperson said:
“We are delighted to announce that Bourne Place leisure quarter is nearing completion of the construction phase with tenants being invited to fitout their units in the coming months.
“We appreciate the patience of the people of Sittingbourne during construction. Clearly, recent events have have also altered our timetable.
“Public health permitting, we look forward to opening the leisure quarter to the public in the coming months.”
